Hard Reset Htc Elf0100 p3450

One of the thing I love of the Internet is the ability to find nice people putting time and effort in helping other people to solve their problems, (forum, videos, software and more) from the most difficult issues like Solutions to The World Problems to the simple ones like How to Wash Dishes.  I love it.
Problem:
Here is my technical issue with my HTC cell  phone. I bought this phone in Ebay a year ago from a China vendor. For whatever reason, maybe a timed self destructive software, :-) the touch function would not work and would not let me access the phone. No chance to enter the password and I could not even make a phone call.
In HTC website suggested to do a Hard Reset with soft reset and the two front bottoms. Not luck, I was ready to dump it in the trash but I finally found another suggestion without using the soft reset bottom. After hours of frustration I got it!
Solution:

I turned the phone off. I pressed the 4 bottoms, saw a blue screen come in and out very fast. After that, it booted right up. After several seconds, I let all the bottoms go. It worked!!. But as I was expecting, I lost all my data. Not a biggie I have an old backup, better than nothing.
Let me know if you have success with my findings.

Best post! This solved my problem. However, it seems as if I have a screen issue as my screen wont pass the align setup. I tap the points but it seems as if they are not being calibrated.
